The Amherst Animal Hospital is located in beautiful southern New Hampshire. We have been a successful small animal hospital for over 40 years and have maintained a respected reputation in our community by providing exceptional care for our patients. Many of our clients have been with us over 30 years and we have had the opportunity to provide healthcare for the lifetime of their pets.
Amherst Animal Hospital provides modern medical care while upholding traditional values. We are independently owned and the decisions regarding the practice, medications, equipment and protocols are thoroughly assessed before implementation. Our doctors and staff play an important role in the decision-making process. Our facility is free standing and has 5 examination rooms, 2 surgical suites, diagnostic ultrasound, DR digital radiography and in-house blood analyzers. We have 10 separate hospital wards allowing isolation for all potentially infectious patients. A full-time ward staff cares for hospitalized patients and there is a treatment technician living in an apartment above the hospital. We do offer boarding for pets needing extra care, including diabetics, those with renal failure and e...lderly animals.
All of our doctors perform surgery and see outpatient appointments. We have a knowledgeable and energetic staff of certified veterinary technicians, assistants and receptionists. We regularly provide externships for veterinary students and veterinary technician students and we employ several high school students wishing to gain experience in the veterinary field.
