ACVECC residency (3 year program) opening for January 2024 or July 2024. The group of practices sees approximately 5,000 emergencies per year with the majority being evaluated and treated through the main hospital near Sacramento, CA. The emergency service is run day and night by 4 ACVECC diplomates and therefore the mentorship in the program is exceptional. There is a wide variety of cases including surgical emergencies, infectious diseases, toxicities, neonates, and technical rescues. The residency program has been in place for over 10 years and has a structured program including physiology reviews, journal clubs, and external rotations with specialists. There are approximately 40 veterinarians in the entire group of practices that enjoy a collaborative approach to medicine. Loomis Basin Equine Medical Group consists of approximately 40 doctors working out of 10 different locations. The main hospital sits on 28 acres east of Sacramento in the Sierra foothills close to skiing, the American river, and various state and national parks. The other locations include Napa Valley, North Coast, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Los Angeles. We are a growing medical group with the main hospital facility housing 80-130 horses depending on the time of year and includes climate controlled ICU stalls, isolation stalls, and various barns, paddocks and pastures. The hospital employs over 40 technicians that help with the ambulatory, surgery, and ICU patients.
