Managing Veterinarian: Advanced Veterinary Care, Farmington, CT

Advanced Veterinary Care is preparing for a transition. The founding veterinarian is planning to scale back and we are looking for an experienced veterinarian who is interested in taking on the Managing Veterinarian role.

Managing Veterinarians devote most of their time to practicing medicine but also mentor Associate DVMs, provide medical leadership to support staff, and ensure regulatory compliance. Additionally, they partner closely with the Hospital Manager to drive strong financial performance and ensure smooth general operations of the hospital. We will ensure that you are set-up for success through mentorship with the existing Managing Veterinarian and NVA led trainings for new Managing Veterinarians.

Potential Ownership Interest. You may be permitted to purchase an agreed upon ownership interest in the Hospital in the future, subject to your continued employment and good standing with the Hospital. The purchase of the ownership interest shall be in accordance with any terms the Board deems appropriate at such time in the future. 

The Advanced team is looking for someone who is highly collaborative, enjoys medical mentorship, and strongly values the support staff team. Robust surgery skills and exotics experience is a plus. The hospital is a great place to work and has:

• 2 fantastic Associate DVMs and the space to support additional DVM hires.

The Farmington location offers the option of city-living in nearby Hartford, or you could reside in one of the great suburban communities (Farmington, Simsbury, West Hartford, and Avon). These suburban communities have some of the best schools in CT and something for everyone – two long distance trails for cyclists or joggers, the Farmington River for kayaking and tubing, skiing at Mohawk Mountain and Connecticut’s largest public golf facility! Not to mention, New York and Boston are within two hours.
