Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform basic emergency care/ Urgent Care
- Diagnostics and treatment as well as emergency surgeries
- Handle emergency situations quickly with emphasis on details
- Multi-task well under pressure
- Be highly motivated to work as an individual as well as a team
- Be positive and professional
- Advise animal owners about medical conditions, and treatments
- Receive walk-in emergency cases and transfers
- Manage hospitalized patients
- Communicate with referring veterinarians and clients
- Attend doctor rounds as dictated by shift
- End of life care
- Diagnose and treat animals for medical conditions.
- Operate medical equipment
Education/Experience:
Degree in Veterinary Medicine; one or more year’s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
