Scott County Veterinary Clinic in Georgetown, KY is looking for a motivated and experienced Veterinary Practice Manager to help run their growing clinic.
The Practice Manager is responsible for assisting the owners with day-to-day administrative tasks, overseeing the receptionists, basic accounting and bookkeeping, office functionality, and office efficiency. Primary duties include:
Promote a client-centric environment and facilitate programs and processes that meet client needs
Plans and organizes all personnel activities
Develops and updates the employee handbook, written job descriptions, employee personnel files
Schedules and coordinates regular performance evaluations.
Engages in recruiting of clinic staff
Recommend compensation changes, promotions, demotions, disciplinary action, and other personnel changes
Resolve staff issues
Prepare and manage clinic budgets and financial statements including Balance Sheets, Profit and Loss statements, etc.
Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
Recommend possible changes that can help improve clinic profitability
Maintain inventory control systems and continuously cost supplies for best prices
Oversee and manage the reception function, including receptionists
Engage in marketing activities on behalf of the clinic
Maintain and coordinate employee scheduling
Develop and maintain work schedules
Deliver outstanding customer service to clients and help resolve issues and/or complaints
Maintain and, where necessary, develop organizational systems to assist in efficiency of operations with the clinic
Manage and recommend policies and procedures to reflect company culture and business objectives
Oversee incoming and outgoing communication, including liaising with doctors to help effectively communicate with clients
Accurately report necessary metrics and data to owners
Organize and manage time-off requests made by staff according to clinic schedule and submit for approvals
Serve as a team role model to other staff
Maintain information in practice management software
Make recommendations to the practice owners concerning office needs, such as staffing requirements, status changes for receptionists, training needed, and challenges that may arise

Knowledge of office management strategies
Demonstrated leadership experience or potential
Basic knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping
Highly organized
Ability to self-motivate
Previous office management experience preferred
Strong communication skills
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field preferred
At least 2 years of Veterinary Practice Management experience
Certified Veterinary Practice Manager designation desirable but not required
