Unionville Equine Associates is seeking a qualified equine surgeon for a well-established, progressive, 10 doctor practice in beautiful, historical Chester County, Pennsylvania. Our practice is located in premier horse country with world class competitions such as Dressage at Devon, Fair Hill International, Plantation Field, the Devon Horse Show, PA Hunt Cup and Cheshire and Radnor Hunts. Chester County is very conveniently located near Philadelphia, Baltimore and Wilmington. Our position in the southeastern corner of Pennsylvania draws in cases from PA, MD, DE, NJ and beyond.
Our state of the art hospital and surgical facility is equipped with an in-house laboratory, arthroscopy, video endoscopy (1 & 3M), fracture repair, sling assisted recovery, digital radiography and ultrasonography, Class 4 Laser, ECSW, and Prostride. The hospital also features four private outpatient exam areas, ten stalls, reproduction and isolation facilities, an outdoor ring and round pen, a pharmacy and a full service laboratory.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in elective soft tissue surgery, sinus/dental surgery and arthroscopy with room to expand for an enthusiastic team-player. No emergency services required. Charismatic and attentive communication is a must for our team based work environment as well as within our local equine community. The candidate must have a DVM or equivalent and surgery credentials.
Solely equine practice with busy ambulatory and hospital components including elective surgeries. Sports medicine is most common case type. Reproduction cases include fresh and frozen semen, stallion collection and embryo transfer. Disciplines included but are not limited to dressage, eventing, driving, hunter/jumper, foxhunters, racing, breeding and pleasure. Our practice is located in premier horse country with world class competitions such as Dressage at Devon, Fair Hill International, Plantation Field, the Devon Horse Show, PA Hunt Cup and Cheshire and Radnor Hunts. Our veterinarians have FEI certification to treat at FEI events and do so regularly. In the summer of 2012, UEA completed construction of their new state-of-the-art clinic and surgical facility. The clinic features four private outpatient exam areas, ten stalls, reproduction and isolation facilities, an outdoor ring and round pen, a pharmacy and a full service laboratory. Additional equipment includes digital radiography, digital ultrasound, lameness locator, arthroscope, video endoscope and gastroscope, shockwave, Class IV Laser, power dental equipment, ECG and an in-house clinical laboratory.
