Hello,

    My name is Janina Krajewski but locally I’m known as Dr. Nina. Instead of referring to the details of what we offer to our veterinarians which can be discussed via a Zoom call or in person, I would like to tell you a little about myself and how I run my practice differently.

    I don’t presume to know it all, in fact, I’m constantly learning… but what I do know is that in the past 20 years of practicing I have noticed a huge transition within our industry. Some of the changes are positive, but some are not.  I had two very successful practices that I started from scratch and ran for many years, I had a great team and overall, I was very happy. Then one of my associates wanted to move out of state closer to family and I decided to sell the practice she ran. Well, that practice led to me selling both of my practices. I was assured that I could continue to work and run these locations as I had for many years previously. Sadly this did not happen for various reasons and once my contractual obligation expired after my sale, I moved on. Not to say anything negative about the company that took my practice over, but corporate practice was not for me and it might not be for you.

    Today, I’m in the process of rebuilding. It’s not easy to start a new business but I’m back at it and I feel great about being able to put my team, my medicine, my patients, and my clients first. I’m not being asked for numbers each week and month, because we all know that numbers sometimes don’t tell the entire story. Instead of cutting costs at the expense of my team or patients, we build long-lasting relationships, we know our clients, and we listen to them. After working as a relief veterinarian for several different corporate owned hospitals, I am not here in any way to bash the veterinary corporate world, but I do believe that there is a different way to run a business when you don’t have to manage hundreds of locations. I can tell you that my team is willing to work harder and show initiative when they don’t have to go through layers of management waiting for decision makers and their approvals. Nothing like dealing with the owner directly to address concerns and solve challenges on the spot.

     Sometimes it’s hard to understand the entire culture of a business when the recruiting teams say all the right things, but I’m here to tell you that there is a better way within our industry to enjoy our profession. There is a way to balance work and life, there is a way to provide great customer service and medical care… while taking advantage of all the benefits and financial incentives.
