Myself and my business partner, Jen, started Pennridge 9 years ago because we were tired of working for people we didn't agree with.  We wanted to build our own practice that could focus on providing quality medicine at affordable prices.  Where we could have a reasonable schedule, and strive for a work-life balance so we can enjoy our families too and have lives outside of veterinary medicine.  Where we can help our community through our dog rescue and providing free clinics, so we can also be a part of the solution for the pet overpopulation problem in this country.  Where we can hire for personality, and surround ourselves with people who actually LOVE vet med, and want to be there every day.  Where our clients are treated with respect and don't feel like a number.  What started as two girls with an old mini van and a dream, has grown into a bustling practice filled with wonderful people who see our vision and believe in our goals.  We need another doctor who shares these same goals to join our team as we are expanding - ideally it would be someone who wants to stay forever, but we will also definitely benefit from a relief vet too - so that's why I'm including both options in our ad!  Check out the details below, and if we sound like somewhere you would like to work - reach out to me!  I would be happy to chat more!

Pennridge Animal Hospital is a busy, suburban Philadelphia small animal practice seeking a part-time, full-time or relief associate veterinarian to join our team! Our tag line is ‘always caring for and about your pets’ and we are a team dedicated to elevating the standards of pet care – and this is the culture of our practice. We also really enjoy practicing medicine and helping people, and like to practice with a bit of fun and joy thrown into our day!  Our job should not feel like a burden - we work hard to help our team remember why they loved vet med in the first place!  If you want to work somewhere that the management cares about you, and believes the work-life balance is important, then look no further!

Benefits for long-term positions include: health insurance including vision and dental, a stipend for continuing education, minimum of 2 weeks paid vacation (plus a paid day off on your birthday!) licenses and dues.  Base salary plus production is competitive and commensurate with experience (starting range of $95,000-125,000, but negotiable), mentorship available and new grads welcomed!  We are hoping to bring someone on long-term, but are also open to relief veterinarians assisting our practice in the meantime as well!

Pennridge is fully equipped with an in-house lab, digital dental radiology, digital radiology, ultrasound, therapy laser, 9 exam rooms, surgical suite, dental suite, and a complete in-house pharmacy.  We have 7 amazing doctors already, with a team approach to medicine, and rounding us out is a wonderful support staff (approximately 40 team members strong!) and awesome progressive clients.  Should a new or recent graduate apply, we have strong and experienced doctors who are ready and willing to provide tons of mentorship and comradery!

The doctor schedule is flexible, but typically a 4 day work week with rotating weekends – average of 1 Saturday per month (again, negotiable for relief coverage). This position would include wellness and medical visits, typically scheduled as 30 minute appointments, and our full-time doctors are scheduled for approximately 33-34 hours/week to allow time for charting and phone calls.  We are closed over our lunch hour, and also have a dinner break daily.  Our last appointment of the evening is scheduled at 7pm, to allow for us to all go home in a timely manner!  For relief coverage, our schedule could be very flexible depending on availability!

Our practice is in the adorable town of Perkasie, which has a few amazing restaurants and bars, plus we are surrounded by beautiful countryside and tons of outdoor activities (there is a park directly across the street from our hospital!), all while being within an hour of Philadelphia for a busier scene!
