Hartfield Animal Hospital is looking for a Veterinarian to join our devoted team and community-based practice. Established in 1990, our inviting, three-doctor practice has a reputation for combining high-quality medicine and exceptional client service. We are proud to offer progressive services, which include Eastern and Western alternative medicine, nutritional consultation and traditional medicine practices. We all truly strive to treat the whole patient rather than just the symptom. The experienced and long-tenured team maintains an efficient and enjoyable work environment while priding themselves on providing excellent patient care. 

We are open Monday – Friday 8am-5pm, closed on weekends and major holidays and schedule our veterinarians with a 4-day work week. After hours emergencies are referred and there are no weekday or weekend on-call shifts. We encourage new graduates to apply that consider themselves a team player and love to learn!

Our team takes great pride in our community-based welfare groups including Gloucester-Matthews Humane Society, Animal Welfare League and Middlesex Pet Friends for Life.

Hartfield is a rural community in Middlesex County settled in between the Rappahannock River on the North, Piankatank River on the South, and the Chesapeake Bay on the east. We have 135 miles of shoreline which is perfect for anyone who loves the water. Our area and its surrounding nature offer many outdoor activities such as boating, crabbing, fishing, kayaking, golfing and hiking. We are 40 miles northeast of Williamsburg and 60 miles southeast of Richmond.
