MCPAWS is seeking a new veterinarian to join our team! Join a dynamic organization working hard to serve our community and maintain access to veterinary care in an innovative and progressive manner. Our vision of creating a humane community where all animals are well cared for and loved informs everything we do! Job duties for this position will be balanced between clinical and surgical duties at our full-service veterinary hospital and may require support of our shelter medicine program at our shelter location, as needed.
We recognize our staff as our greatest asset and value staff wellbeing and work/life balance. This position will join a veterinary team consisting of one, full-time veterinarian, one part-time veterinarian, and an excellent support crew at both the hospital and shelter locations.
Expect this hybrid community/shelter veterinarian role to be exciting and fast paced! Our community is growing with more people and more pets moving to the area every day. Ideal candidates will be experienced in veterinary medicine and comfortable developing care and treatment plans for patients, but we are also willing to work with and mentor new graduates as they embark upon their veterinary careers.
Daily duties include a wide variety of surgical procedures including trauma, gastrointestinal surgery, orthopedics, dentistry, and high volume spay/neuter for both shelter animals as well as pets belonging to underserved pet owners in our community. Scheduled wellness and diagnostic appointments as well as urgent and during hours emergency appointments are routine.
Our new Safety Net Programs ensures that clients experiencing financial hardship can access lifesaving and routine veterinary care for their beloved family members, while also providing dedicated funds for shelter animals that need veterinary care above and beyond the basic vaccinations and spay/neuter surgery.
Community veterinary medicine opportunities including low cost spay/neuter, vaccination and microchipping, and Trap-Neuter-Return for community cats are given high priority and there is much potential to grow these programs.
Schedule: Flexible! Full and Part-Time Schedules Available
Reports to: Director of Veterinary Services
Annual Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 and $10,000 signing/relocation bonus.
Benefits: Paid time off, health benefits (medical, life, accident, dental, vision), continuing education allowances, required dues and licenses paid, eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, unlimited good karma investments
