As the first veterinary office in Clarksburg, Maryland, we have cultivated an amazing reputation for consistent excellence since opening in 2004. We are still proud to be independently owned and plan to stay that way. Our reputation is founded on detailed communication, empathy, honesty, great customer service, good medicine without a sales pitch, gentle handling of our patients and a consistent long-tenured team. While we are not Fear Free certified, we embraced common sense Fear Free type practices a decade before it became popular. We utilize our Online Pharmacy to customize preventatives and other treatments to our clients and patients rather than push what is on our shelves.
Our clients are economically stable, well educated, full of questions and eager to give their 4-legged family members excellent care. They are seeking to understand what is needed and why and make good choices that are perfect for themselves and their pets. We routinely educate clients on nutrition, behavior and general management to prevent problems or identify issues early. Time for conversation and good listening skills build rapport and trust as well as a more thorough understanding of a clients concerns. Communication distinguishes our approach from most veterinary hospitals and it is why clients come to us and continue with us. It is the reason we have such consistently amazing ratings online. We schedule 30 minute appointments and only 1-2 procedures per day per doctor so our patients get the attentive medical care they deserve.
COVID has changed things and put an enormous amount of pressure on the profession. We are no exception. It has been tough to meet demand this past year. Adding another experienced doctor to Clarksburg Animal Hospital will allow us to continue to meet our standards of care for our clients and patients. Our goal is a roughly 30 hour work week for both doctors at a full salary. We have no weekend hours and are more likely to expand weekday hours than re-open for any weekend hours. Our team members have a 32 hour work week at 38-40 hour per week pay and we don’t plan to change that. A good work-life balance is how we keep our excellent employees for a long time.
After years of building a reputation and targeting our marketing, we are getting the clients who appreciate what we do and who are engaged and willing. We’re looking for a committed and kind doctor who is ready to have the time to engage with clients, provide detailed and updated medical care, be thorough and thoughtful with communication and procedures, provide education and guidance for referrals, and achieve a work-life balance at a competitive salary. Our long-standing team is a critical part of how we provide the service we do and we are looking for a long-term doctor ready to love where they work and the people who work with them.
