Animal Clinic of Diamond is a true mixed-animal practice that was established in Diamond, MO in 1992 by the late Dr. Harold Haskins and his wife Jayne. Dr Haskins is responsible for the relaxed team oriented atmosphere with an emphasis on beef cattle. The clinic is located on a 420+ acre ranch where we run 1,100-1,500 stocker calves at any given time. Credit also Dr. Haskins for creating a culture of local producers who understand the value and utility of the veterinarian when it comes to their operations. ACoD is currently a 3 doctor practice with graduates from LSU, Mississippi State and Missouri. Support staff currently includes 5 technicians (3 licensed), office manager, kennel tech and 2 ranch hands. Case load is at least 50% large animal with beef cattle claiming the majority by far. There are a significant amount of large cow/calf operations in the area, and we are the consulting veterinarians for many of the local stocker operations easily totaling over 80,000 hd of stocker calves. Equine case load continues to grow and could easily expand if it was of interest, and we see a suprising amount of small ruminant and swine cases. Small animal case load continues to grow at a steady rate as we continue to try to add new or improved services. ACoD is a full service hospital, equipped with cattle haul-in facilities with hydraulic chute, mobile manual and hydraulic chutes, mobile hydraulic foot trimming table, equine stocks, small indoor round pen, digital CR X-ray, power float, in-house bloodwork, in-house EIA lab, 2 easi-scan ultrasound units, and 2 gas anesthesia machines. Our team atmosphere readily encourages collaboration and pursuit of special interests. Our practice is expanding at a rapid rate and we are excited to add a new associate to the mix.
