The Sonoma Humane Society is seeking a highly motivated, dedicated veterinary professional to serve as Practice Manager for our AAHA accredited Public Veterinary Hospital. The Practice Manager will support and coordinate business operations for our 2-doctor practice. In addition, the Practice Manager may be scheduled to work as a veterinary technician up to 8 hours per week.

Coordinate scheduling of veterinarians, support staff and volunteers.
Assist with recruitment and hiring of new staff. Manage staff timesheets and disciplinary issues.
Assist with yearly budget, process invoices, and produce end of month reports.
Coordinate departmental meetings.
Work with the medical directors to develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures and implement strategic initiatives to grow the business.
Serve as primary contact for vendors and sales representatives.
Oversee ordering, monitoring, and dispensing of controlled drugs. Ensure compliance with DEA rules and CURES reporting.
Promote a positive public image and help to resolve any client service issues.
Fill-in as a receptionist or veterinary technician as needed.
Ensure compliance with the rules and regulations of relevant state, federal, and other governing bodies, including AAHA, OSHA, DEA, and the California Veterinary Medical Board.
Minimum 7 years working as a veterinary technician with significant experience as a receptionist in a veterinary hospital setting.
Minimum 3 years working in a managerial role.
Practice management experience in a veterinary hospital preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills, with a keen attention to detail; customer service oriented.
Ability to promote a positive and team-oriented environment.
Conscientiousness with a commitment to excellence.
