Seeking a person or persons with genuine interest in pet, beef cow-calf, and equine medicine in a small town atmosphere. Opportunity to practice quality medicine with mentorship in a modern facility with an efficient team. Practice is 33% bovine, mostly cow-calf, 65% small animal, 2% equine and sees small numbers of exotics, small ruminants and pocket pets. At least 50% of duties will be small animal with remainder dependent on experience and interest of applicant. Applicant should have excellent communication skills, enjoy working in a variety of situations with a diverse case load, have a desire to improve and advance personal skills and have the ability to maintain an upbeat attitude with respect and admiration for coworkers and clients. Basic diagnostic and surgical skills required. Competency in reproductive bovine ultrasound beneficial. Work schedule is 5 1/2 days a week for 2 weeks and then 4 days with a 3-day weekend off. Emergency duty will be split among three veterinarians. Knife River Veterinary Clinic, Inc. is a 3-4 veterinarian mixed practice serving Mercer, Oliver and Dunn counties in North Dakota. The practice has been established since the 1960's with the current ownership beginning in 1997. This clinic was built in 2002 with full small and large animal facilities. Indoor and outdoor cattle working areas including rotary electric chute, hydraulic portable chute..., calving chute, working tubs and pens and a horse stocks serve large animal patients. Three exam rooms, a treatment and wet prep area, small animal surgery, x-ray room, isolation room, separate dog and cat kennel areas, grooming room and a large open reception area provide a very efficient workplace for handling pets, calves and small ruminants. Records are maintained on Avimark computer system. Large animal herd work is done in the country but most individual cattle and horse work is done in the clinic. The practice philosophy is to provide high quality medical and surgical care at an affordable cost to serve both our animal patients and their caretakers. We develop close, long term relationships with our clients and patients. We provide services ranging from boarding and grooming to orthopedic surgery and everything in between. Referral cases can be sent to Bismarck, 80 miles away. Our current staff includes 4 veterinarians, 1 veterinary technician, 4 veterinary assistants, 3 kennel workers, 1 groomer and 4 previous assistants who cover assistant hours as fill in staff.
