Seeking a full-time associate veterinarian for a busy multi-doctor progressive well-equipped companion animal hospital Woodbrook Animal Clinic is a state of the art veterinary hospital located in the Mid Coast region of picturesque Maine. The hospital boost many bells and whistle available to help provide services to our patients. The laboratory is up to date with a full in house Idexx system. The double surgical suite boost monitoring equipment, heated tables, and a top of the line Bovie electrosurgery unit. In 2016, the hospital acquired a GE ultrasound. There are four exam rooms. The treatment area has two wet tablet and a mobile lift table. We have a high-speed dental unit and digital radiography.
The flow of the clinic has an open dynamic flow. It is spacious but intimate. The doctors office and nurses station are within feet of each other for easy communications and discussion of cases. The laboratory is centrally located to receive samples from the treatment or the exam rooms. The pharmacy is fully stocked with effective and well researched medications. There is also a small retail area for a few specialty items, prescription diets and nutraceuticals.
We offer the gold standard care, but are willing to help with a treatment plan that works for the clients wishes or resources. We are looking for a forward thinker who has a kind and compassionate bedside manner.
The hospital has a 3:1 ratio of support staff. The clientele is from all levels of life. We strive to have the doctors utilize their skills for diagnostic, prognostics, surgery and prescribing. The team is trained to help support the doctor. We want to encourage and accommodate creative thinking as well as support special interest of our team.
The area is semi-rural with many cultural opportunities within a 30-45 minutes drive. Ocean experiences to exploring nature abound. The four season weather can appeal to a broad range of interest from skiing in the winter, spring bird watching and gardeners, summer beach trips, and fall foliage exploring.
You will become part of a friendly skilled team. As the veterinary team leader, the position will require good communication and problem solving skills, great attention to detail,and have solid medical and surgical skills.
